Determining a Dynamic Maintenance Threshold Using Maintenance Options

چکیده

Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) enabled maintenance is considered to be the most recent phase in the evolution of maintenance paradigms. It enables outcome-based contracts, dynamic warranties, maintenance-optimized availability, among other benefits. PHM enables flexibility whereby the decisionmaker can choose from a set of options arising after prognostic indication in order to manage its health. This paper proposes a methodology to determine a dynamic maintenance threshold for a fleet or for individual systems in order to meet an availability requirement. Placing a dynamic threshold for maintenance allows the maximization of returns from assets and accounts for multiple sources of uncertainty.
